Galápagos Sea Lion

Day Nine of April Landscape Photo Challenge

San Cristobal (Galapagos, Ecuador) is the place to see sea lions.

Galapagos Sea Lions

They are wildlife who live side by side with humans and many of them are roaming around in public places. It’s fun to watch them, but at the same time, I feel like we have invaded their space. They are considered as endangered animals and their population is decreasing. More: the Sea Lions in Galapagos.

  1. I think, the corona lock down is a welcome break for many wild animals and it has given a break for the whole ecosystem to rejuvenate.

It also sends us a clear message that, if we invade their territory and force them to get in contact with humans more often, we can expect many more zoonotic diseases.

Thank you for sharing this interesting post and thought provoking notes, Indah 🙂

    • I am with you, Sreejith. I just read an interesting article how wildlife reduction and humans intervention on wildlife population has pushed the new virus such as coronavirus to expand to humans.
It is indeed the time to measure our acts as humans to ensure the sustainability of all living creatures in the planet.
