Monochrome Monday: Abandoned
I’ve always been fascinated with photography of abandoned places. Abandoned places are everywhere in the world but unfortunately the places usually are not safe for touristic purposes and closed for public. I have doubt that we could enter these places without permits. When I traveled to Lisbon (Portugal), I saw few empty buildings with scattered walls. My mind ran wild, thinking these places were abandoned places with odd things inside 🙂
Have you seen unique abandoned places? Perhaps one of these places as listed in Bored Panda – 31 Haunting Images of Abandoned Places?

Amazing to think of what went on in these places before they became silent. Lovely images Indah.
Thank you so much Sue!
Hello Indah,
I would like to invite you to join the Five Photos, Five Stories Challenge. The rules require you to post a photo each day for five consecutive days and attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction or non-fiction, a poem or simply a short paragraph – it’s entirely up to you.
Then each day, nominate another blogger to carry on this challenge. Accepting the challenge is entirely up to the person nominated, it is not a command.
I’ve started today with “my pinguins”…
Hi, thank you so much for the invite! Muchas gracias! I have done the Challenge a couple weeks ago – this is one of the post – https://indahs.com/2015/03/06/5-day-photo-challenge-when-the-wind-blows/
I haven’t had time yet to browse blogs but surely I will do so soon this week and see your submission! Looking forward to see your amazing images 🙂
One of may favourite themes! Some great locations in the link you provided – thanks for sharing, Indah.
My pleasure Graham, I remember you always take those places too 🙂
These are great images…great composition and details ! If you like abandoned building you should check out the work of famed Irish photographer Donal Moloney ! Especially the shots of Sinead O’Connor he took !
Thank you John! I will take a look at Moloney’s works 🙂 Have a great weekend!
Hauntingly beautiful. Love the detail and texture.
Thank you so much Kitt!
Fine choices, Indah.
i share that fascination with old and abandoned buildings.
What is it about them? For me, they have an air of mystery and hold the
secrets of their personal history…sorry about the rhyme.
Big Hugs

Good post, my friend. Abandoned places always have stories to tell, just that they don’t tell.
Thank you so much Mahesh! Yes, that’s so true 🙂
