The Sustainable Rotterdam
One thing to respect Rotterdam is its local government efforts to develop the city as one of sustainable cities in Europe. One of their first actions is by having 10,000 m2 (comparable to a football field) of solar panels as the roof of its train station (Rotterdam Centraal Station). And the view of the roof is quite artistic in black and white tone 🙂
interesting….
great patterns and light.
Thank you so much!
Superb photo Indah, and also very cool for about the train station!
Many thanks Randall!
That’s nice that space was utilized in such a way. We are a tiny community – less than 5,000 people, and we’ve allocated free space for our solar farm. All it takes is for everyone to do their part! BTW, I love the photo! To me it’s reminiscent of an M. C. Escher print. Great job!
Thank you so much Rob! M. C. Escher! I never thought about that until you pointed out – perhaps that’s the train station architect’s inspiration came from..
Beautiful pic, I love the lines, structure & light. Black and white strength them. I adore the newly renovated Rotterdam Central Station. It suits the city better.
Thank you Yoyen! The newly renovated train station has brought good atmosphere to the city..ooh, I remember those days when the station looked so old and ugly 😀
Great shot. Very mesmerising.
Thank you so much Draco!
Yes, Indah, the Dutch are good at so many things. And what a great picture with its lines and real depth – love it
Many thanks John!! Have a great day!
I love this use of solar panels. Practical and beautiful at the same time. My hubby visited Rotterdam, and much preferred it to Amsterdam!
Thank you so much Shelley! Indeed, I hope more public buildings will use solar panels – they could look very artistic!
