The Tiniest Frogfish
Have you ever seen a frogfish (anglerfish) this tiny? This frogfish was the tiniest one I have ever seen. He was still a baby. I was glad that I brought a measure stick during my diving to scale the fish. The fish was less than two centimeters.
Someday I will write about the frogfish on the monthly Marine Life post 😉 Stay tuned!
Photos were taken in Dauin, Negros Island, the Philippines.
Thank you so much for sharing this “little discovery” Indah.
As pretty much the landlubber that I am, I am so enthralled with wonder with your underwater photography. It is like a whole different world underwater. 🙂

My pleasure Carl! Glad that you enjoy my underwater photography – ocean is a totally different world, and I just can’t get enough of it 🙂
Very cute. 🙂
Thank you Maverick 🙂
Wow, I wouldn’t know if that is frogfish because that doesn’t look like a frog or a fish. Its colour is so beautiful, reminds me of Nemo!
🙂 Its actual name is anglerfish but since it looks like a frog then the fish called as frogfish – this species has no family relation to frog..
Indah this is fantastic. Such a wee thing but so vibrant!
Thank you Sue! This species has several different colors – from black to orange. And the one in this post called as clown frogfish..
What cute frogfish. Never seen anything like this before. In the first photo, it looks like it has four legs, like it’s climbing up a mountain or something 😀 At the same time, it looks lost and quite kawaii ❤
Glad to share this frogfish with you! You are right about it looks lost, he was just a baby and alone..and I saw few baby frogfish as well after this one but different colors. So I guess the baby frogfish were living separately instead as a group. Most likely they are hatched from the eggs..
How inteiguing and captivating !!
Thank you 🙂
wow! looks gorgeous 🙂
