Monochrome Monday: Istiqlal Mosque

Istiqlal Mosque, or Independence Mosque, in Jakarta (Indonesia) is the largest mosque in South East Asia. Across to the mosque there is the Catholic Jakarta Cathedral Church, built in year 1901 with its original Dutch name De Kerk van Onze Lieve Vrouwe ten Hemelopneming or The Church of Our Beloved Lady who taken to Heaven. The position of both buildings have been long time a symbol of Indonesians’ religious tolerance. Tolerance that I hope will continue for many more generations.

Today and tomorrow, Muslims around the world is celebrating Eid al-Fitr after 30 days fasting during the Ramadan. Through this post I wish readers and bloggers who celebrate the festive for a wonderful celebration with families and friends. May peace be with you and your loved ones.
