what about when under water, you produced brilliant photographs, did you you special camera or just the normal Nikon D90 with special casing? and what kind of casing?
Hi Mbak Nina, I use Olympus EPL 5 and its underwatercasing.
I’d prefer not to use the huge DSLR for diving as its underwater casing is very heavy! Not handy for trip especially we have our own diving gear..😊 I hope this helps 😀🌹
That is an interesting link and so true: the creativity of the photographer trumps the camera. What type of underwater housing to you use? That might be important though 🙂 Wet cameras don’t always work that well.
Hi Jeff, my apology just replying now, just returning from travel this week 🙂
I use the standard underwater housing from Olympus – which is affordable and not too expensive. The housing allows me to use camera in manual function – as long as there is option to use the camera manually then it is good enough for me 🙂 Just look for that option when looking for an underwater housing, I don’t like taking pics in Auto mode in general and usually it brings lousy result of underwater images.
i just bought a 35mm 1.8 for my food shots 😀 im looking to lay my hands on a portrait/macro lens for my nikon d7000 which is a crop sensor which one do you suggest and a cover so i can take it underwater.. have anything in mind??

Now, about the underwater photography, are you planning to bring it for special purposes? For snorkeling or to protect your camera from water adventures/rains then I can I recommend camera plastic bag from Aquapac 🙂
But for scuba diving then should use its specialized underwater casing, the brand is varied…I can say Ikelite is a good one and has reasonable price 🙂

Hi Bilal, my apology for slow reply! For macro then I suggest to try 60mm/2.8 if you wanted to take picture of macro animals that often very shy like butterfly for instance then longer length would be better – 105mm/2.8

Hi Bilal..it depends on your budget..
For cheaper option: use brand from Ewa Marine or Aquapac. It is plastic camera bag, but a good one. I think it is ok to use for snorkeling and diving…
If you have enough budget, then you can check underwater housing from Ikelite or Equinox. These two are trustworthy brands and the prices are sort of medium range.
The most expensive brand would be from Subal and Nauticam – more expensive, let me phrase it: crazy expensive! 😀
Unfortunately Nikon is never producing underwater housing for its DSLR cameras…otherwise, I will recommend it instead 🙂

Thank you so much Cyril! I use the PT-EP10 underwatercasing for my Olympus Pen-5. It is a great underwatercasing – all the camera functions work perfectly 🙂
