About

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Indah, I am an Indonesian by passport and a world citizen by heart. I have been living in Jakarta and Bandung (Indonesia), Groningen, The Hague and Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Minneapolis (The U.S.A). At present, I am based in Jakarta.

I chose to use “indahs” as the blog’s name based on the first e-mail address when I started the internet. The very first time I learned using the internet was in Groningen (The Netherlands) as a junior researcher. My Dutch research partner was patiently introducing the use of the internet and email to me. I will never forget those days: the excitement of learning a new technology for the first time in a foreign land, using a foreign language.

I love traveling and scuba diving but the most important of all: I enjoy these activities more if I bring my camera. I feel lost when traveling or diving without my camera. That makes me an addict to photography.

I have all my travel diaries in handwriting and these days I’d like to share the story online. Some of my blog posts are about my previous travel. Please excuse grammatical errors in my post, I hope my pictures speak more than my writing.

  2. Hi Indah,

I have just published an eBook on Amazon entitled “Budget Traveler’s Guide to Manila, Philippines.” The book is an experience-based guide to traveling on a budget in Metro Manila for backpackers, travelers, and culture seekers.

If you are interested in the book, you can download it through this link: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KNN4ZGE

If it happens that you know backpackers who are interested and are planning to travel to the Philippines, I will appreciate if you will refer the book.

    Big thanks!

  4. A very well put up blog Indah…just love your photographs and descriptions of the places you’ve been to. I too kept a handwritten journal till some years back…then somehow other things took over my time…I started blogging as an attempt to share my novice photography and the thoughts running around the shots quite recently…your blog has made me think about resuming my handwritten journal…hopefully this time around I’ll be able to keep up 🙂 will definitely enjoy going through your blog for beautiful posts…just finished one on Udaipur…keep blogging and stay blessed!

    • Many many thanks for your kind comment. It is very nice to start my Monday morning reading yours. Handwritten journal is something that I can’t help to stop, still carry a notebook whenever traveling until now 😉 It always feel nice to read them back when resuming it to the blog. Please do so whenever you have time, sometimes it bring good memories back 🙂 And you have wonderful photos in your blog, I am sure I will enjoy your posts for long run 🙂 Have a great day!
