About

Thank you for visiting my blog. My name is Indah, I am an Indonesian by passport and a world citizen by heart. I have been living in Jakarta and Bandung (Indonesia), Groningen, The Hague and Rotterdam (The Netherlands) and Minneapolis (The U.S.A). At present, I am based in Jakarta.

I chose to use “indahs” as the blog’s name based on the first e-mail address when I started the internet. The very first time I learned using the internet was in Groningen (The Netherlands) as a junior researcher. My Dutch research partner was patiently introducing the use of the internet and email to me. I will never forget those days: the excitement of learning a new technology for the first time in a foreign land, using a foreign language.

I love traveling and scuba diving but the most important of all: I enjoy these activities more if I bring my camera. I feel lost when traveling or diving without my camera. That makes me an addict to photography.

I have all my travel diaries in handwriting and these days I’d like to share the story online. Some of my blog posts are about my previous travel. Please excuse grammatical errors in my post, I hope my pictures speak more than my writing.

I have been receiving numerous requests to use my images. Thank you for your interests. You are welcomed to use (c) watermarked images in this blog under the following conditions: (1) not for commercial use; (2) should mention indahs.com as the photographer or back-link to the respective blog post; (3) do not remove the watermark; and (4) do not edit the images.

However, if you wish to use non-watermarked images or to edit the images for non-commercial or commercial purposes, please support the operational cost of my blog by buying my images through iStock by Getty Images.

Occasionally I will use the earned money to support selected ocean/marine life conservation organizations. Please feel free to contact me if you require more information.

Thank you so much for your visit!

  1. I have an online English literature, creative writing and art journal covering East and South East Asia. I would love to use one of your photos as a cover or even do an online art show of your work. However, for legal reasons I need work to actually be submitted. If you are interested take a look at the current issue of Eastlit and the submissions page.

    • Thank you Graham! I am happy to participate, especially as it aimed for study and education! I don’t consider myself as a good writer though, I realise that sometimes it is hard to write in language other than my mother tongue 🙂 Let me study the journal and I will contact you soon for the submission procedure.

  2. You have been to many countries I still have to visit one day. Thanks for telling the stories. Looking forward to see and read more! All the best

  3. Thank you Julian! Hope you will visit those countries someday too. You have wonderful photos as well, very professional and impressive!

  4. I absolutely love your blog, the travelling, the photos and the diving! I’ve got a similar situation as yours and am a very new blogger too. I’ll definitely get back to your blog!
