Black Hills Treasure: Sylvan Lake
Sylvan Lake was a tranquil and incredibly beautiful lake. I have never seen a lake with unique rock formation like the Sylvan Lake before. Located in the Black Hills (South Dakota, USA), the lake is known as the ‘Crown Jewel of Custer State Park’.
The rock formation surrounding the lake was naturally formed, however, the lake itself was created in 1881 when Theodore Reder built a dam and the first resort in the Black Hills.
There are plenty activities that you can do around the lake, from camping, kayaking to exploring the lake and its rock formation. We did let Dante, our dog, swimming in the lake and I can tell that he loved it!

It was, we had a great time there. Then there is a reason to return to the Black Hills. I am thinking to return someday, such a beautiful place!

Sylvan Lake is gorgeous, I like the rock formations surrounding it. I didn’t recognize it even though I saw the movie (I looked it up, but won’t tell the secret). Beautiful place, Indah, thanks for sharing it.
