Twinkle Night
Most Dutch people love to decorate their houses during the Christmas time. Not only houses that being decorated but also the trees nearby to their homes and apartments. It is such delightful view when walking in my neighborhood (Rotterdam) at night these days. Some houses are sparkled with outdoor decorative lights.
I do feel the joy of Christmas celebration when seeing these twinkle night lights on the Christmas trees and people houses. How an ordinary thing shared can bring an extraordinary feeling of happiness to others. Please join Kan’s weekly post “Joy is”, by sharing things that bring you joy and happiness. This week Kan is sharing her joy in Udaipur with beautiful night photography 🙂
It’s one of the best bits of Christmas for me, Indah. I love being out at night and enjoying the ‘free show’. 🙂
That’s true Jo, and these lights are so lovely at night time!
What beautiful shots capturing the shared joy of twinkling lights…..the first is so pretty…..and I love the curvy effect on the buildings….is it an app or a lens? Whichever, they are all beautifully composed!
Thank you! The curvy images (the last three images) were taken using fish-eye lens. The lens is superb for its fastness and sharpness…totally recommended!
The first one is so BEAUTIFUL !… the photos made me hum the lines..’jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way…” 🙂
😀 😀 That’s exactly how I felt Maniparna! Thank you so much!
I agree, there’s something magical about Christmas lights. They’re like the fireflies of winter. Thanks for sharing these wonderful photos!
Thank you so much Rob! Gladly sharing them with you 🙂
Wow what amazing pictures! I instantly fell in love with the first one with the globes, they are so cute. Did you buy it in NL? It’s facinating to see how other countries celebrate. All I know about the dutch celebration during xmas is Sinterklaas (I briefly dated a dutch guy very long time ago who explained it to me) but the pictures gave me this warm feeling inside 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much! Yes, these globes were from the Netherlands, I got them as Christmas present 😉 You are right about Sinterklaas and in the end now the Dutch celebrates too many things in December 😀 They celebrate Sinterklaas on the fifth December then Christmas on the 25th and 26th and New Year on the 31st…and these days are equally crazy plus busy 😀
Such a beautiful post, dear Indah ❤
