Back to Blog

It’s been a while I haven’t updated this blog. My last post was in May 2020. Somehow, in the era of video blogs and audio blogs, I still feel comfortable putting my thoughts in writing. Writing in a language that’s not my native has been a constant challenge; however, the mood to write due to personal situations has been the most significant challenge by far.

In the past two years, I have been struggling to find the purpose of my life after a major change in my long-term relationship. It worsened as the pandemic hit in the year 2020. I guess 2020 was a terrible year for many of us, regardless of where you were.

The pandemic hasn’t yet been over in 2021; however, my situation is improving. I make peace with myself and what had happened. I stand on the ground rooting back in my first hometown. I enjoy what I do for a living and I still have Dante next to me (he is still a kick ass awesome dog). I also meet amazing people along the way who have inspired me. Their life struggles have encouraged me to return to this blog.

Quoting Joyce Meyer, I am not where I want to be, but I am thankful that I am not where I used to be.

My first travel destination in 2021 was Bali (Indonesia). It was for business purposes, and the trip was another memorable one. I visited organisations that support marginal communities during the pandemic, from the community of people with disability to gender-based violence survivors.

Again, an eye-opening trip to stay positive and trust our capabilities to make our dreams a reality.

It sounds clichéd, but surviving in challenging circumstances would be hard without a positive perspective. I have been there. We deserve to feel sad, miserable, lost trusts and unlucky compared to others, but how long do we have to feel sorry for ourselves and be afraid of our capability to move forward?

I have several travel plans in the future that include scuba diving trips. It’s a goal to make it happens. Fingers crossed. Thank you for continue following my blog during its absence. I will return with new blog posts.

  1. I am happy to see you blogging again. There is just something about writing things down. I kind of mentioned those thoughts in my blog the other day. And I always remember a big time blogger once mentioning… we don’t own our posts on IG social media etc. but we do own our blogs. It’s why I am staying with blogging.

I hope you are getting back on track… and I am sending you good vibes! Take good care my friend!

    • Thank you, Nancy, for your supports and kind words. I am with you on blogging, at least we own our blogs 🙂
So far I am happy with my progress. It’s been way too long to feel sorry for myself 🙂

  2. Seeing you back to blogging is wonderful, Indah… your writing and photography always bring a smile. The past 18+ months have been a bit surreal, and I agree with you ~ there is something about sitting back and letting the words and mind flow while writing to make our own worlds a bit clearer. I need to follow your example 🙂 Take care, and look forward to reading more of you. Cheers.
