Review: Aloft Hotels, Staying at Modern Chic Hotels
What I expressed in this post is truly based on my travel experience. All images are taken by myself in the hotels’ premises.
Our experience staying at Aloft Hotels in San José (Costa Rica) and Cancún (Mexico) this year was a pleasant one. Aloft is a hotel chain owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, and their hotels are available worldwide. Luckily we join the Starwood’s Preferred Guest (SPG) loyalty program that also include Aloft Hotels around the world. We redeem our starpoints from our previous stay at the Starwood Hotels to stay in Aloft Cancún for almost free!

Modern Design Lobby
Aloft offers modern architecture and design that make it unique and different than other hotel chains at its class. Its design has characteristics. As you entered an Aloft Hotel, you know that you are in Aloft.

Re: fuel by Aloft offers snacks, breakfast sandwiches, salads, and much more options at 24/7. You don’t have to depend on room service all the time. Come to Re: fuel, grab your food and enjoy!

Breakfast and Dine at Stylish Restaurant
Aloft hotels have a kitchen and restaurant that serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In San Jose, Aloft Hotel offers a great variety of breakfast compared to Aloft Hotel in Cancún. I haven’t tried dining at Aloft Hotels’ restaurants, thus I can’t say much about their food quality.

The bar is colorful and trendy. Personally, I like their cocktails menu 😉

Information for Indonesian travelers who wish to visit Costa Rica as tourists:
- Tourist visa should be obtained prior arrival. However, for Indonesian passport holders with multiple entries of a tourist visa, a visa for crew or a business visa for the U.S. or Canada are allowed to entry without visa prior arrival. Note: Such visa must be stamped in the passport and be valid for at least 1 day (The length of stay may not be greater than the validity of the visa and may not exceed 30 days).
- Do check with the Costa Rican Consulate/Embassy at your home country for the further update of the tourism and travel safety.

Great post, Indah! Gives a good picture of these fresh, modern hotels. We had a similar experience in Aloft Orlando.
I used to spend like $4 a night in some of my longer journeys. These days, I’m more comfortable in something like Aloft kind of places!! What does that say about me…or about growing old?
