Monochrome Monday: The Pillars of ILO
I took these images during my visit to International Labour Organisation (ILO) headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland). The ILO headquarters office has an impressive entrance of huge symmetrical colonnades. The ILO’s colonnades were quite impressive to walk through, as you could see how small the three men were.
These images reminded me of a conversation with one of ILO staff member when I was about to capture the pictures. He said the impressive colonnades have supported the ILO building for long time; and just like the building, the ILO needs strong pillars with certain values and idealism to support the promotion of better and fair working condition around the world.
I do hope the pillars of the ILO stay strong to achieve its noble goal, decent work for all.

Very interesting, Indah! Somewhat reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick, the great film director. Somewhat stark, but immensely interesting.
Thank you very much Rob 🙂 His black and white photography is inspiring to many! 🙂
Mind staggering!!! Just wow!!!!
Thank you so much Amy 🙂
Such a meaningful take on! Exquisite image of the building.
Thank you so much Amy!
Surprisingly, I had difficulty seeing the columns! what whiteness –
Great place! Have a Good week Indah
Ahh…sorry! It might be bit over exposed..have a good week to you too Pat!
Love this shot. Very disorienting, as the one on the right could merely be dots in black and white, but the shot on the left puts it in perspective. Fun piece.
Thank you so much 🙂
I like how that person connects the pillars in the building with the values of ILO. They have been doing a great job in promoting decent work for all, including for persons with disability.
Indeed, ILO has marvelous works and inspiring projects around the world.
cakep juga ya walau fotonya dengan warna item putih aja
Iya, aselinya juga kelihatan seperti black-white gitu..kebetulan aja itu tiga orang pakai baju hitam-putih 🙂
Wow, the people in the shot on the left really add perspective. That is a beautiful place.
Thank you so much Jeff!
