Cuba, how much longer?
Teri Dashfield invited me to join a five day photo challenge with song. I decided to post images related to places that I had visited and matched the images to the songs that represents or about the place. Please bear with me for the next coming five days, and to excite you more, some songs that I am going to include are not in English.
Day 2: Cuba
Quizás, Quizás, Quizás song always reminded me of Cuba. We heard the song in every cities we visited in Cuba. The song was written by a Cuban, Osvaldo Farrés, about (complicated) romantic relationship. Just a thought, few part of lyrics represents the current situation of Cuba. No, I am not going to discuss about the politics issue nor embargo in Cuba, but I do wonder how much longer Cuba should wait to be fully an open state and no longer isolated…
Estás perdiendo el tiempo
Pensando, pensando
Por lo que más tú quieras
¿Hasta cuándo? ¿Hasta cuándo?
You lose time
Thinking, thinking
For God’s sake
How much longer? How much longer?
(Partial lyric of song Quizás, Quizás, Quizás)
Wonderful images Indah. We visited Cuba 20 years ago as our first ‘big’ holiday. Your post takes me back to that special trip.
Thank you so much Sue, gladly sharing this with you 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing this, it is really very precious. Ibrahim Ferrer’s has been my all time favorite singer and musician, he speaks from his Cuban heart!
It is my pleasure, I admire his music too, Cuban legend and Buena Vista Social Club’s star 🙂
Such a great song, and perfect for reading, pondering and hoping to get to see the real Cuba before it is no longer there…
Thank you so much Randall! I hope you will see Cuba someday, I am sure you will take amazing pictures and great writing after visiting Cuba 🙂
I sure would like that ~ Cheers Indah 🙂
Oops. I was thinking of going to Hawaii this summer. Now…maybe Cuba, senorita.
😉 oh Hawaii vs Cuba…that’s a difficult decision to make!
As usual stunning pictures, did you get to smoke the Cuban cigars here?
Thank you Bilal 🙂 oh no..I don’t smoke cigars 😀
Mm good I don’t either but that won’t stop me from seeing one rolled on a beautiful SA thigh 😀 eh eh eh
Love these buildings and the perspective! It reminds me of a palace–is it really a palace, Mbak?
Thank you!! The second image was people’s apartment and the first one was just a corridor of an empty building, but it was so pretty! 🙂
Wow, indeed, they are so pretty :)).
loved those pillars 🙂
I love the buildings, Mbak. They are looked like palaces, aren’t they? Their colors are so magical :)).
